A local antique tractor show. An antique tractor show which became a tradition that we attended with our family and friends,
February 9 th 2019 was one of the most special moments of my life, the day my husband got down on one knee and asked me
to marry him. Without a second of hesitation, I said yes to the man, to the farmer, to my soulmate that I have prayed for my
entire life. Without delay, a few days past and the date was set, October 26, 2019, a perfect fall wedding.
We knew a barn style wedding was without a doubt the wedding for us, Josh being a farmer that part was easy, but finding the
venue right for us was the next step. We had toured a few local barn venues and imagined our special day at everyone but they
never felt like the perfect fit for us. Then one night we drove to our barn and sat there surrounded by tractors, stacks of wood
pallets, hay balers and a watermelon packing belt that ran into the back of the barn, we could do it, we could do it here, the farm.

For the next 8 months we worked to turn a Florida watermelon packinghouse into the venue of our dreams,
a place we felt would be the perfect beginning for our story. We wanted every light, detail, every chair to mean something to
us and it. did and still does to this day.
October 26, 2019, surrounded by our family and friends we had the Wedding we will never forgot, it was one of the best days of my life. After the wedding it took us a few weeks to come down from what we had built together, a feat that wasn’t easy
to tackle but was accomplished with sweat down our brows, tired hands and loving hearts.
Over the next year Josh fulfilled one of his lifetime dreams and became the proud owner of a local Farm and Feed store
and we had brought into the world our son, Hollis Cane. Then out of the blue one day our phone started to ring, people inquiring about our venue. “Our venue,” and just like that our life paths had shifted, our futures had changed,
we had The Packinghouse at Sugarcane Farms.
After our first wedding we knew what we had accomplished together had to continue to be shared. It gave us no greater joy
being a small part in the start of someone’s forever and we truly cherish every relationship we have made. Sugarcane Farms
started as a packinghouse, transformed with love into a venue and continues as a passion we hold close to our hearts
and truly love to share with others.
